An old Chinese curse says, “may you live in interesting times.”  For concerned citizens of all political persuasions, these are interesting times.  The Greek philosopher Plato observed in The Republic, “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics, is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”  This in many cases is the state of politics today.

The Republican Party of Los Alamos County provides a venue and a voice for concerned citizens interested in improving local, state, and federal government.  We believe it is possible for principled people to disagree on matters of policy.  We welcome those whose ideas and passion for politics is both well thought out and not defined by others.  We do not believe in litmus tests or some beltway powerbroker’s definition of Republicanism.  We invite all who want to be involved, all who are willing to listen and learn with others, all who yearn to participate in the greatest political experiment mankind as ever experienced – America.
