NM— According to reports, at Saturday’s Democrat
Pre-Primary Nominating Convention, approximately 30 delegates cast
their ballot not in support of incumbent Martin Heinrich—the
Democrat Party’s uncontested congressional candidate— but
for his GOP challenger, Jon Barela.

NM— Today, at the 2010 Republican State Pre-Primary Nominating
Convention, delegates elected from across the state cast their vote
to determine the order in which Republican candidates in contested
statewide and federal races will be listed on the June 1st
primary ballot.

After
Years of Campaigning, Denish Favorables Under 50%?
Albuquerque,
NM—Yesterday, a poll conducted by a Democrat firm revealed that
Diane Denish was leading the gubernatorial race by a close margin.
While this data conflicts with an internal poll conducted by the
Republican Party of New Mexico, this poll does raise an important
question: why is Denish’s favorability so low when she has
been running for statewide office since 1994?

Findings
of RPNM Poll Changes Liberal Data
Albuquerque,
NM—In response to polling results released by a Democratic
firm, the Republican Party of New Mexico calls into question the
accuracy of these polling conclusions. While today’s findings
were based on a series of automated calls—making it more
difficult to determine the respondent’s eligibility to vote—a
recent poll commissioned by RPNM was based on 500 live interviews
with New Mexico voters statewide.

Year Anniversary of Passage of Stimulus Package
Albuquerque,
NM—“Last year, the Obama administration and New Mexico's
congressional delegation argued that the way to create jobs was to
spend an unprecedented sum of taxpayer money. One year later this
state's unemployment rate has risen over 3 points, resulting in a
loss of over 23,000 jobs. While President Obama advised us that the
money would go to 'shovel ready' projects, it is clear that did not
happen.”
