We
Are Republicans for a Reason! We stand on principles of: Freedom,
Family, Free Enterprise and Faith
Freedom
As Republicans, we believe that all people – not only those fortunate enough to live in the United States of America, but throughout the world as well – have a God-granted right to live in freedom.
People should be treated equally by government.
Everyone should be given the opportunity to work to make a living, to raise a family, and to worship and speak as they choose.
Our country should fight for a lasting peace in the world, and it should stand behind those who are oppressed by dictators, criminals, and terrorists – people who hate the freedom that is offered by the United States.
Americans should never live in fear. We should fight terrorists on other soil before they get to ours, and we should put forth a strong law enforcement and legal system that properly punishes criminals in our own country.
Above all else, we are an immensely proud and patriotic party. We love the United States of America and believe in the opportunity that it creates in the lives of people throughout the world, simply based on its central principle of freedom and liberty.
Family
As Republicans, we believe that the strength of our society lies in the strength of our families, and our government should promote stronger families as a way to improve education, grow our economy, and decrease crime.
Families should drive decisions on a child’s education. Governments should allow parents to place their children in successful schools, and we should continually push for accountability in the education system.
Republicans believe that marriage is between one man and one woman, and that a successful marriage is the quickest way to ensure a happy and successful family.
All life is precious – life is a tremendous gift. And therefore, we promote a society that honors life – whether born or unborn – and we reject procedures and efforts that minimize, destroy, or decrease the significance of life.
Free
Enterprise
As Republicans, we believe that strength of our country is the optimism built into the free enterprise system. No matter you’re background – race, religion, ethnicity, or age – you can find a job that will allow you to prosper and raise a family.
Personal responsibility – people have the ability to make something of themselves, and they should not rely on government to get them by.
Limited government – The best type of government is the one that governs the least, instead allowing for an open and free market to allow for the creation of businesses and jobs
Fiscal responsibility – Taxes should be low because a government bureaucracy can never spend money as effectively as an individual. And business regulation should be minimal, in order to encourage growth and production, which in turn increases the number of jobs that Americans can fill.
Faith
As Republicans, we feel that a belief in God and in principles that stress goodness and love to one another should be encouraged, not removed, from our society. The positive community work of faith-based institutions should be acknowledged and assisted by government, and children and young adults should be allowed to pray in public schools – it is a positive thing for a person to have faith and believe that a greater calling has been placed on his/her life.
